Today the subject is that intrepid idiot Pete Hegseth. - the macho military incompetent who leads what he and Trump insist is called the "Department of War". but which Congress has not actually renamed from the "Department of Defense". Hegseth has written a number of books, all of which contain his militaristic and stupid hypermacho nonsense. He is an evangelistic Christian and believes that should be the only religion in America, despite the Constitution and our country's formatioin by people escaping religious domiination. He wants to reform the military Chaplain Corps to orient it to Christianity, despite the fact that it was set up to embrace many religions. He speaks of the Iran war in "apocalyptic" terminology and says the war has a divine purpose. He has not yet said the war is being waged to lead to the apocalypse of the book of Revelations, but there are rumors that some commanders in the military are saying this and Congress is looking into it. As a former green beret (Army SPecial Forces), I will say that real special ops troops have no need of this cosplaying drivel. War is not a game. The fact that masses of people die is meaningful to true tough guys in the military. Rah rah bullshit does not set well with true soldiers. Our troops are not "warriors", they are trained and disciplined troops whether they are Seals, Delta Force, Air special ops or line soldiers.

If the mantra of the apocalypse gets into open discussion in our militery, it will be picked up by the Iranians who know the book of Revelations themselves. If that becomes a goal, remember that the apocalyse speaks of a final war to end our lives and lead to the second coming of Jesus. Those who hope this Iran war will intrduce the apocalypse assume that they are the good duys who will be taken up into heaven. Such people don't care if real world people are devastated by their criminal war because, after all, they will be going to heaven and all who believe as they do will go as well and the rest of us will and should go to a very real Hell as they see it. Revelations tells them so. Pete Hegseth, that incompetent but deadly dangerous cabinet secretary, along with his holy leader, Trump may yet introduce a very real but not biblical apocalypse in which millions will die and the earth itself will be ravaged.
